sometimes I just feel

....helpless when my child is sick. It is the worst feeling in the world! I am so grateful that Hubby is back. He does make our world complete!

Flooring

Well, we decided to redo the laundry room. New paint, new shelves, and new flooring. We picked travertine for the flooring. It is easier(in my opinion) to lay down travertine than tile. You have to deal with spacers and start from the center of the room. Travertine it is like a puzzle piece that you put together and can cut as you go along to make things fit. No I did not use a wet saw but I did use mortar and help hubby finish off the flooring by doing the border around the flooring. I even did the grout. The travertine is all different patterns but in the same family so it looks more like stone when your done. I am very proud of myself! This is something that I thought I couldn't do but in the end found out I could and I loved it! My friend Mrs. TD is the most handy woman I have ever met. I think she would be proud of me!

Here are before and a few after...I have more after but have not downloaded them yet...

Now, you can't tell but once you seal the flooring, it gets darker and the colors of each travertine piece come together. I promise it looks good! We had so much fun! Okay, maybe there were a few problems but we worked them out. Homeownership is an interesting journey!

Day 2

Thank you to all who made us smile by your sweet emails or comments made of supporting us through our decision to put little man in an m.d.o./preschool.

Well, again he did not cry nor was he bothered by me leaving him at school. He was so willing to go that when he woke up this morning he said " shoe, mommie, go go go!" Which means lets go to school to play with friends! Anyway, he ran to the school door past the preacher and school director straight to his classroom. I did the usual hang the bag up, put the lunch box with the class basket, and gave a couple of instructions. I said "bye bye, have  a good day." He smiled at me and went about his business. So far so good. When I went to pick him up he was sitting on his nap roll/mat looking very content and looked up to see me. He smiled and immediately came running while saying "mommie mommie, hi." Just made my heart sing! So sweet! I gathered his things and tried to leave the classroom. He looked at me to say "no, go go go." He wanted to stay with his teachers and friends. I explained how we would come back next week to see everybody. He really seems to enjoy other little ones just like him all in one place to play and learn.

Thank you to both teachers who made this mom of one feel comfortable and at peace. Thank you for being in my son's life. Though it has only been one week, I know you both worked very hard and it is not an easy job. I am so glad that you both LOVE what you do. It makes a difference!

p.s. I don't have pics yet...soon...

Yesterday!

This was not an easy decision nor did we rush the process it took to get here. Yesterday was our son's first day at preschool. EEEEKKKK!!!

Now, many of you know that I have taught/worked at preschool/elementary for years. This decision was very very hard on me/us. WE enjoy our son and value our time with him tremendously. US (hubby and myself) do not need "me time" so that is NOT one of the reason we sent him to preschool. WE did it for him! As any parent, you weigh a big decision very carefully. Each family has to do what is best for them. Some choose to homeschool. some choose private school, some choose public, some choose  ________(fill in the blank). Whatever each family chooses to do, I know we all show support for each other that is why I am sharing this day with you! So read on my friends to see how he did errrr..I mean us! =0)

Anyway, he did great! He loved it and acted as if he has been doing this since he was born. I cried! I missed him! Well, we missed him. Hubby took the day off so I could have that emotionally support. When we dropped him off yesterday, he ran to his classroom and immediately played on the little indoor slide. He did not even pay attention to us. I gave the teachers his things and just stood there for a few seconds. A little tear formed in my eye as I looked on our ever growing baby boy. We said "bye bye." He looked up at us as we were closing the door and fussed for half a second. I believe he did that because we shut the door and he did not get to. He went back to playing. I could not leave the parking lot right away. I just sat there in bewilderment wondering is this really happening? Hubby started the car and we were off to run errands.

Later, much later or so it seemed. We picked him up only to find him resting peacefully on his new nap mat. We grinned. People/teachers began to tell us of his day. He tried to snatch a little girls cheetos at lunch. Of course I packed too much food but you just never know. Most of it went on the floor so they tell me. He had his first scratches, bumps, and little bruises. When he woke up, he smiled at us and said "hi daddie, hi mommie." It was as if he was saying "thank you for bringing me here to play with new friends."

We have been at peace about this decision for awhile  but to see it come into play made our hearts smile!!!

p.s. we hired someone to take pictures for us and as soon as I get the cd, I will post pics.....=0)

My First Sweet

Well, he really does not like sweets at all! He would rather have an extra taste of green beans or tomatoes or okra or something. This was his first taste of something sweet that he actually liked it for more than a minute. I had to capture the moment!!

The Farmer and the Dell

DSC_8710

I don't why but that is the song that is stuck in my head when I see these pictures! I had gone shopping for fall/winter clothes a week ago for my ever growing baby boy. Of course getting a toddler to try anything on is like pinning a cloud down so I decided I would take my chances and buy what I thought would fit in a few months or less. I was more concerned whether the overalls would  be roomy enough in a certain area. He is long in the torso so most pants in the legs fit fine it is in the other area that I have problems with. He liked is overalls so much that the tags stayed on along with him wearing his new shoes. I thought it was so funny. However at the end of the day just his socks with crocs and no overalls was the way to go!!!
