Versatile Blogger Award errrr..something like that

Well, one of my fellow blog friends nominated me for Versatile Blogger Award. I feel very honored by her that she would pick me as one of the blogs to participate. I enjoy reading Mrs. Robbins blog and all the happenings in her big family. To me it is big since we only have one. She is honest, sincere and always standing in her children's corner supporting them. If you have a chance go read her blog. I think you will be encouraged by the journey she has travelled and continues to tread upon.

Okay, I am supposed to give 7 random facts about me. Do you hear the laughter coming through this screen to you? No? Well, it is loud on my side. I don't know if I have 7 but I will try. Here goes nothing.

Fuzzy socks- I collect them!  I am that girl at Target whenever a Holiday or seasons changes because I know they will have a wall f fuzzy socks just for me! Okay, maybe not a wall more like a rack. I do have one rule about buying a new pair. I must get rid of the old pair before buying a new set. This is not hard to do since I wear them all year round and they get worn.

Children-LOVE them! Not just mine but yours! I was always that friend babysitting or taking an extra pair of little hands in my home. Sometimes I believe I am more comfortable with kiddos than adults. I do believe my job in Heaven will be with children or rocking babies and my mom will be right beside me.

Organization-Oh to be but not. I love organized people. I am organized in some areas of my life but others not so much. I long for my home to be that place where everything is filed, put away, all items to have a place in my house, everyone can find anything in less than 5 minutes and maybe have a few of those oh so cute colored containers. Someday......

Scrap booking-LOVE it but no time.  Once upon a time in a land far far away lived a girl who loved to scrapbook her memories. If I were in a story I think that is how my chapter would start for this subject matter. Sadly, it has taken a back burner due to other priorities. It is okay for now but I will get my groove back into memory making! I love it for so many reasons. I get to be creative, tell a story and see memories stored on beautiful paper in books. It just takes time that I cannot give to it right now. Soon very soon.

Women Revealed-strong passion of mine! It is a ministry for women to release their burdens. It is beyond anything I have ever done or been a part of. I have participated in Level 1 & 2(WOW). My place in this passion for now is to continue to staff and grow in my walk with the Lord. Click here to learn more.

Boxing-"momma gonna knock you out!" This has been an addiction(good one) of mine for a couple of months now. If you have ever boxed you know what I mean! It energizes me, thrills me and challenges me! I thank my bf for getting me hooked! ;0)

Old stuff-turning to new. I love to take an old piece of furniture and make it new again or repurpose it. This is not hard to do since I only have to walk a few feet in my own home to find a piece that meets that criteria. hahaha! There is a lot of Biblical parallels for me in that. Jesus can take anything and transform it into beauty!  It brings a smile to my face to know that HE was a carpenter. Pretty neat.

Now, I am supposed to nominate blogs I read. These are just a few of the ones I read. I love to them for different reasons. Honesty, inspiration, true to themselves and they make me laugh! Here they are....

For those of you nominated, here are the rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you.
2. Include a link to their site.
3. Include the award image in your post.
4. Give 7 random facts about yourself.
5. Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award.
6. When nominating include a link to their site.
7. Let the bloggers know they have been nominated.

now go...;0)

If My Blog Could

Write me a letter it probably wouldn't be a very nice one. It would have words that involve neglect and unloved in it. Though I personally have not meant to do those things, I have! So here is my apology. I am so sorry for the lack of attention that you have gotten lately. However, I am sure there will be more times in the future where I will slip.

Sincerely,

A wanna be blog writer

Now, that I have THAT off my chest we can move forward. So where have I been? Everywhere, no where, somewhere and well here! The last 2 months have flown by so quickly that I have to really stop and think about where all the time has gone. We(book club) finished One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp and An Invisible Thread by Laura Schroff. I LOVE book club! We all have different opinions and are able to bring them to the table with respect for each other. This group has really helped me step into some roles that before I would not have considered. I thank them for loving me! Our latest, greatest challenge and I do mean CHALLENGE is 31 Days to Clean(having a Martha house the Mary way). Oh ladies, it is waaayyyy more than "just" cleaning. It will be interesting what is "uncovered" in the next month or so.

Our lil man finished his first year at his new preschool here in Austin. He really enjoyed his year! He made good friends that we have had a few play dates with them already this summer! I know I mentioned before that he turned 4 but I never posted about his birthday gathering. It was just us! GrandParents became ill that weekend and we had only invited a few friends. Two of his friends were from the neighborhood who moved away on the same day as his party. Bummer! The other two we invited were from out of town so we told them we would catch up on another weekend. Part of me felt bad but it was just an unusual set of circumstances that were out of my hands. One lesson learned is whether we have many friends or just us as a family, he stilled enjoyed himself. It saved my pocket book for sure!

Son calls this his Dirt Digger Cake or better known as The Construction Site Cake

Another lesson I learned was about his gluten free cake or at least the baking process. I need to double the recipe for a height purposes. It was not as thick as I needed for this particular theme but it was still very good!

Then we celebrated Easter! This year we had time to decorate our own eggs. It was a lot of fun!

Of course it  was all about Spider-man. I am not sure what made him latch on to Spider-man but he did. I think it may be the cool colors and mask!

Stay tuned for more updates and hopefully it will be sooner than later. I pray all is well in y'all's precious homes.

lots of love

what in the world do all these crazy words have to do with today's post?

Well, read on.....Oh it is a fun one and TRUST ME you will want to read on!!!!

I mentioned in my post Ink & Pages I started a book club. Getting the books was an interesting event. First, I ordered from a sub company from Amazon called Book Depository. I had no idea that the company's warehouse was/is in the U.K. The website was not very clear and shipping time frame was supposed to be free 2 day shipping. After purchase then I received an email saying it would take up to 2 weeks to ship the books out! What??? I was NOT a happy camper. My book club was starting and I needed books FAST! Amazon had them on back order and that is why they sent me to Book Depository. So much for the book deposit! Last Tuesday I called all the Family Christian Book stores to ask them to hold so many copies back for me. I had 25% coupons so the books ended up being about the same price wise. I did only have to go to 2 stores to get them and they were not far apart so fuel wise that helped.

Now what do I do with those extra books??? I contacted the shipping department at Book Depsoitory to get a refund or to obtain a proper return label so I could be refunded. Insert British accent, "We have nowt in our store so we can't ship your books! I'm sorry we haven't recieved your quid yet so a refund is impossible! Plus, we don't offer them." huh????, what did she just say??? Insert thick Texan accent "thank you and never mind m'am!" Insert British accent...what a diddle(rip off) and very naff!(uncool)!!

Needless to say I now have the books BUT they are extra! SOOOOO I am giving one away!!!! Yippie! Sometimes it is better to just give it away than try to fight for my right to get my refund. I wouldn't win! They made that very clear so service can happen when you choose to utilize it for something other than what you had intended it for! Think outside the box or maybe book in this case. I'm so funny. Okay not really....I need sleep!!!!

Knees Up or in this case a Book Party!!!! wooohooo!!!!!

I am giving away Grace for the Good Girl by Emily P Freeman.

Rip Out My Hair

kinda of a day! I am just having one of those days where no matter what I do or how I do it the end results seem to be failure. Do you ever have one of these? Seriously? I have EVEN prayed over it and still I do not feel the overwhelming peace I am suppose to feel. I have read all my "proper" bible studies and still my spirit feels weak. I have been silent..no tv, no radio, no fb, no phone calls. Nothing that would block me or distract me.

Why oh why can't I shake this feeling or attitude off of myself? Don't I control this or do I?

So what do you do when YOUR day has been nothing but "poo?" Yep, I said it! Or do you even get one of these days?

I must admit they are rare. Don't misunderstand me I have things that go wrong or the "stuff" fails before me but rarely do I feel or have the outlook I do today. It is kinda like that dream you have that made you mad and you don't know why you are mad but you just are.

However, it is truly days like this that I am on my knees more than I am standing. Even when I don't feel it is working I still press on. It is so hard to do isn't it? Hard to press on when you don't feel like it or want to. I believe motherhood is the most selfless act anyone will ever take on in life. My relationship with Christ has been deepen since I had my son. Nothing like having a child to open your eyes to your own short comings or how Christ feels about you as His child.

I do LOVE being a mom, wife, daughter, friend and sister but I come imperfect. Only Christ can carry me or take me where I need to go. Only HE can show me what I need to do and how to do it. HE gives me the ultimate wisdom I need for the moment. Sometimes it feels it comes late...ha ha or maybe I wasn't listening.

Sisters, can you relate?

Then I become very quiet so much that I begin to observe all that is around me. HE taps me on my shoulder to say "watch your son and how he plays with his bike. Look at the tender spirit that grows before you." (breathe)

I am so grateful that my daily failures don't determine my Character or dictate whom I am. I am so grateful that Christ allows me to start fresh and I don't have to wait until morning. Though it would be nice to close my eyes go to bed and POOF the day is done. Ha!

Thanks for listening...sometimes just letting it out in words helps and you thought you were coming here for something great! Maybe next time.

This Picture was taken exactly 3 years ago today. Funny part is as I am typing my son and hubby are in the middle of bath time. Sometimes I like to look back at what we were doing on a night like this a few years back. Somedays it seems a LIFE time ago and other days it just happened. Pictures like these put a smile on my face.

How Time Flies

I can NOT BELIEVE my time has come to go. I am still in shock that today was my last Sunday at our church. You know those strange dreams you have where you are watching what is unfolding before your eyes and you see yourself interacting with people? That is exactly how I felt this am. I looked around the pews shaking my head in disbelief. I must have hugged the same people 5 times in a row and looked into the sweet sweet faces of children that I have taught through the years. It is sometimes hard for me to grasp that I will not get the privilege of watching my friends' kids grow up right before my eyes. For me this is the toughest emotion to let go. If you didn't know it by know I get very attached to other peoples' kids. I have a connection with them and deep in my soul I believe it is a gift! Yes, I know "we" will keep in touch but honestly it just isn't the same seeing them from Sunday to Sunday or in between.

I have one particular friend whom is very emotional about this kind of stuff. I think that is why we get along so well. We really feel! I am getting together with her this week and I am bringing the kleenex. I know we will need it. Isn't it great to know you can be you? I pray that you have those sweet friends in your life that rejoice with you, cry with you, laugh with you and maybe even dance a little with you. This is very biblical! James 5:13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

My emotions are all over the place lately. My mind just keeps racing and it won't stop. Trust me it is all sweet memories. I have recalled the very first people I met when we got here to precious teens who had carried more Faith in their back pockets for me during a very dark time. 10 1/2 years is a big enough number to have multitude of boxes filled with beautiful stories. I am so grateful and blessed to have been part of those stories. So I "thank you" for the memories, good & not so good. If it was all easy & perfect then we would never know growth. Really I "thank you" for loving me enough to grow with me in my faith.

There is an old old song sung by Wayne Watson called Watercolor Ponies. I was at a camp when this song was first introduced to me. It is about cherishing those precious years with your family because time truly does fly! So my friends cherish your time & cherish the people in your life. Oh one more cool fact HE is from Houston! The only video I could find was really long so fast forward to 3:02 and the song will begin.

Lyrics to Watercolor Ponies :
There are watercolour ponies
On my refrigerater door
And the shape of something
I don't really recognize
Drawn by careful little fingers
And put proudly on display
A reminder to us all
Of how time flies

Seems an endless mound of laundry
And a stairway laced with toys
Gives a blow by blow
Reminder of the war
That we fight for their well-being
For their greater understanding
To impart a holy reverance
For the Lord

But, baby, what will we do
When it comes back to me an you?
They look a little less
Like little boys every day
Oh, the pleasure of watching
The children growing
Is mixed with a bitter cup
Of knowing the watercolour ponies
Will one day ride away

And the vision can get so narrow
As you view through your tiny world
And little victories can go by
With no applause
But in the greater evaluation
As they fly from your nest of love
May they mount up with wings
As eagles for His cause

Happy V Month

or Love, Romance, Chocolate eatin' goodies or just all over goodness! I love the month of Febuary! Not because it is the time for husbands to sweat over what to do for Valentine's Day but I love to see what they come up with next! I like to go to the bakery isle at the store and see all the wonderful edibles or check out the latest in HEART WEAR at the department store. Mostly, I like to look at all the lovey dovey poetic cards that hit the V-isle. Hubby and I a long time ago agreed that Valentine's is not just about the ladies so we swap every year of who is planning the fun date. The problem is we are little behind in that department ever since we had little man. I honestly don't remember whose turn is it and neither can he. Ha ha!!!! So we are planning it together this year. I already have one part of my gift to give him so I am doing pretty good considering it is only 2 weeks away. One of our most favorite part of the date night is the exchange of cards. It is fun to find one that fits that year or the relationship or just in general the personality of each other. Our first year together as an engaged couple I bought him one of those cute cards with children on it pretending to be dressed up as if they were couples. Below is a picture of the card.

What are your plans or traditions for this lovely day of romance? Any creative ideas that you are seeing to fruition? I would love to hear your thoughts. Happy Planning....

much love...

Hello

Yep, I am still here! Kinda reminds me of that song we sing at church.."God is not dead, No! He is alive....." Umm, yeah like that only Mrs. C is not dead, NO! She is alive!  Okay sorry for the trailing off ...

Anyway, where have I been? Working. working and yet more work! Plus, hubby did get a job in Austin. Yes, that is right you heard me, Austin! Of course some of you already know this since you do see me in r.l. No we are not moving to Austin yet. I don't even know if we will for sure or when I would know. Hubby's contract job is for a year so we saw no need in uprooting the family. We have been seeing each other on the weekends. That is all coming to a very short stop. He will be on call for a couple of weekends so we will go as short as 14 days or as long as 21 days of not seeing each other. YIKES!  How are we coping you ask? Pretty good! Much better this weekend then the past few together. I think we may have found our groove. It sometimes takes awhile to get into a "normal" routine. HA HA, what is normal?! I guess you could say I am a single parent Monday-Friday and sometimes longer than that.

So the last time I left off we were on vacation. I am so sorry to drop the ball on that one but I believe you got the drift. Obviously, I am not going to be able to catch you up in one short post so....

I will leave you with this...Lately, I have been thinking long and hard about what is needed in our life. Order. Order and yet more ORDER! It has become vitally important now that our time together is so short but sweet! I have been working on making things run smoother. Heck we could all tighten up our ships a little. I am not necessarily talking about "clean, perfect" houses. I am talking order or as some people call it "organized."  Where everything has a place! So, I have begun the...dum de dum....Office! EEEEKKK. I said it! the O word that is typically not mentioned in my house. Yes, ladies and maybe gentlemen I have confessed my weakness to you(hangs head low). Okay maybe I have more than one weakness. Anyway, let's focus on one thing. I(we) need order there! It is where bills are paid, photos are created, blogs are faithful(cough-cough), beautiful books are displayed, and just maybe a cup of coffee is sipped. I would say the Office here at my house is pretty important to keep in some form of order. Maybe you call it something else. The study, the junk room, the place where you use to dream of___, the cave, the napping room, the scrap-booking room, or the whatever room!! You know the room and you know you need to get to it! So do it! I am and let me tell you I have invested in some help so hang with me to see the process.

Oh and one last thing...my little man reading his favorite magazine. Daddy is so proud!

love your unfaithful blogger

Trouble

I am so sorry that I have not posted in awhile but we have been having trouble with our computer among other things. Our desk top crashed on us so that leaves me with nothing. Hubby is having to download everything from the back up to his lap top. I can not share with you our Colorado pictures or any others until that is done from his end. Our garage door broke last week, we have a bug problem that is being fixed Monday, and My Uncle Billy passed away this week. Needless to say it has been a little crazy here the past few weeks. Just continue to be patient with me(us). I love y'all and thank you for the prayers for hubby to gain employment. We still have not heard anything from his last interview.

until next time.....

Eat, Pray, Love =0) I think that this will be a good one to go see!

Reflecting

I am sure you have been waiting by your computer everyday wondering when will she write again! ha ha! Yeah right!!! Just wanted to give a brief update of what has been happening around my little world. First, right now we are currently in a relaxed environment enjoying some wonderful company while soaking up all the love. This is much-needed in our life after the last 6 months. Hubby still does not have job but has had 3 face to face interviews in less than a month. How are we hanging in there you ask? Grace my friends. We are so blessed to have a church home who loves us, friends who give us support when needed, and relationship with Jesus Christ that "surpasses all understanding!" Yes, it is tough. It has even at times been painful. Would I change a thing? No way! We are learning so much about Grace and God's infinite wisdom. I couldn't even begin to put words on paper to explain to you how or what  the last 6 months has done for my family. I could lie to you and say yes let's go another 6 months but you would see right through that. Couldn't you? No one in their right mind says bring on the tribulation. It is during the tribulation that we truly found out what we are made of or whom we are made from. That of course is Christ. He knows all! He knows at the exact moment when you need a rest, a helping hand, a loving hand, a rebuke, a phone call, a card, a hug, word of encouragement, or whatever it may be, HE KNOWS! I am so grateful that he knows. I mostly grateful that his people who represent his hands are answering the call when HE gives a nudge. Isn't the Holy Spirit amazing? The more I grow spiritually the more I learn of the Holy Spirit's power to work in my life. Jesus said he would send a helper and that is exactly what the Holy Spirit has been doing in my life. Helping, guiding, giving direction, protecting, pleading for me on my behalf and on and on and on. Please continue to pray for my family and the coming future. I know you do anyway! For that I am truly grateful!

Well, Little Man has finished his first year of preschool. It has been an amazing year. I prayed everyday for his teachers  and God truly blessed us with loving teachers. They had their end of the year program and it was so cute. I promise to post pictures later! I am not at my computer so  I can not show you the amazing things little people will do on stage.

A PRAISE to our Heavenly Father regarding my mom. She received good reports on her check up from last years health scare. Her hemoglobin was a 10.8  considering last year it was a 4.3. Blood pressure good, nose bleeds few and far between but still cautious about them, and no polyps found in her upper or lower g.i. Also, she got to lower a dose of one of her meds since she is doing so well. Thank you for loving us during last summer and through this year regarding her health. A side note, she is back in Austin for now. She goes back and forth between houses. Mine and my adopted sisters house.

Again I can not express to YOU enough how grateful I am to YOU. Your support has been a main stay in our life. We pray a prayer of blessing for you and your family.

all our love.....

1 John 2:5
"But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. "

Faithful Moment

I have had a lot on my mind. I have been thinking about the whole "job search" process that we have been enduring now for over 3 months. Somedays are better than others but most days I believe we have our chin up. Our chin is up because we are in Christ. I have a "bible study" that I do every morning. Well, it is more of a 5-10 minute devotional that puts me in the right mind set. God works in mysteries ways and so far each little paragraph of scripture and words has had a impact on my day. Whether I needed to hear those words because the Heavenly Father knew what kind of a day was before me or some situation would arise that was reflective on just those particular words.

Today was just that! Hubby got a "cold call." For those who don't know, it is a pre-interview process. Basically the person picks your brain of  what you do know to see if you are a likely candidate for the job. One of the questions that was asked had to do with relocating. Uh-oh! Hubby responded with a "well, I am not ruling it out." Now, let me emphasize here that nothing and I mean noTHING is set in place. He has not even been on a  face to face interview so we are in what we call the preliminary stage of this process. I will not say where! First, just the thought of leaving this area scares me. Second, I DO NOT need rumors nor do I need anyone telling my hubby" heard the news!" I would be in big T-R-O-U-B-L-E!  I am only sharing this with you now because of the powerful words that penetrated my heart and hubby's as well this morning.

This is just a piece of it but here they are!

"Walk by faith and not by sight! As you take steps of faith depending on ME, I will show you how much I can do for you.If you live your life too safely, you will never know the thrill of seeing ME work through you."

While hubby is telling me about a possible move and what do I think of it, these words came back to me! WHAM! There they were! Not only in my mind but I just happened to have the book in the car. It is never in the car! I can not tell you the "place" but it would definitely take us way out of our comfort zone. Nothing may come out this other than God really wants our full on trust! I know we all know this but when God sends you, do you trust HIM fully?

9 years ago we felt the same tug when God moved us to Houston. We knew it was what he wanted us to do but we could not see the full picture yet. I am not sure if we still have the full picture!  For many reason it was the single best decision that God put forth for us!

So, today I hope God has challenged you and pushed you just a little out of your comfort zone. It is never easy but oh man, HE takes you places that you never thought you would go.

blessings my friends....

p.s. please do not spread rumors that we are moving b/c we're not...=0)

This is my 100th post!

I wish I was clever like my friend JSUE who posted 100 things about herself on her 100th post! I am not that clever nor do I know 100 things about me that are interesting enough to hold your attention for that long of a read. So, I will post things that have been happening around here or milling around in my head. Honestly, what a wonderful way to start the new year by reflecting on things that have happened to us whether it be a blessing or a challenge!

1. I received an email today stating I am 8 weeks pregnant. ummm-NO! not true! There must be 2 of me!

2. They say things happen in threes but what if that keeps going? hubby lost his job, our bank account had money stolen out of it, our car battery died, camera lens broke, the kitchen sink flooded and my phone stopped working( 3 times). The car battery is fixed so I a grateful for that. Did I mention that we are on our fourth set of threes?

3. I wished someone had pulled me aside right when my son was born(okay maybe not right after) to tell me of the cute crafty things to do with his little hands and feet. I know, I know! A teacher is "suppose to" to KNOW all those cute memory making crafts. Yes, I do know many but the Christmas Tree skirt with imprints of their little hands as the years go by, that is so special!

4. Speaking of my precious boy! Time flies by when they are so little! It is hard to believe his first birthday has past and I am planning the second one. Seriously, I just did this!!!! No wonder women keep having babies. I don't blame ya. Children are a gift! Did I mention that my gift is 3 feet tall?

5. Sometimes the greatest gifts are given anonymously. I have experienced that just in the past few weeks. What blessings! I have thanked God for each one that has come across my table.

6. I believe that spiritual warfare is real and seems to be more so in my family lately! Just in the past 7 months both my mom and dad have either been hospitalized by way of ambulance or have had at least 5 doctors appointments a month. My mom is still not 100%. Her nose bleeds were at a minimum until recently. So the search begins again to get answers to our questions. I am grateful that my dad has his family near by to help out when he needs it, otherwise I would be pulling my hair out! It probably sounds strange but the "not knowing" of what is wrong with one of your parents can be draining! This is just one avenue that satan knows can make me doubt or grow weary. I must arm myself with scripture, prayer, and people who are wise to get me through such times as these.

7. Inspiration = the movie Julie & Julia! If you have not seen it, GO GET IT TODAY! I will put it at the top of my list for best movies seen in 2009! I watched it last night again just to get me inspired for 2010.

8. I am not happy about the the outcome of the votes(60 to 39) for the new "health care" reform bill. I am not one to talk about politics here but seriously folks we have got to wake up! I am all for better health care in our country. However, this is not the way to go! Do we really know what it is going to do to private insurance? Have you heard how they feel about the elderly and what kind of "coverage" they "deserve?" Does anyone else find it interesting that they think putting a 10% tax on tanning salons will fund health care? Anyone have an opinion on this matter that you are willing to share?

9. I am still stuck on the book Eclipse. I read Twilight and New Moon in 4 days. Eclipse has been occupying my bed side table for 7 months. *sigh* I don't know what it is about this book but it seems so sSSLLLooowww. I guess I could wimp out and wait for the movie =0). Just kidding.

10. I am making my new year's resolutions but I am in serious prayer about them. If anything, I want them to be Christ centered. It is easy to say I am going to study God's word more but to ask Him where He wants me to study so I can grow spiritually is bit humbling. Hey, did you know that getting "out of debt" is in the top ten new years resolutions? Help others, get organized, fitness, weight goals, enjoy life more are just some of the others in the top ten! I could use them all. However, I will only pick 2!

Thank y'all for loving me right where I am and reading my blog even when I was boring! I pray that 2010 will be a year of abundant blessings for you and your family.

Shadow

Lil man has discovered his shadow. One afternoon he chased his shadow all over the backyard. The only problem was  mr. shadow disappeared when we went inside! Try explaining that to a 19 month old!

Locked In!

So, today after my run at Myer Park I decided we would play at our little neighborhood park. Honestly, we have never use it. I know I am so ashamed because it is a nice one! Anyway, they have several slides, a plastic rock climbing wall, teeter toter, cars, merry go round, a volleyball court and tennis courts. You have to have a key to get into our playground area. Which is fine and makes me feel somewhat safe. However, the tennis courts usually are just open and are never locked. Little man wanted to discover the open space of the tennis courts. I let him and myself into the area to play chase mommie! He loves that game. After about 15 minutes, we needed a potty break or should I say I needed a potty break. I walked over to the gate to open it and discovered very quickly we are locked in. OH NO! "Don't panic", I say to myself. I had left our bag with the keys on the bench in the playground area. YIKES! Plus, the gate has only a key entry in and out so you can't reach around with your hand and turn the lock to open it. I laughed! I began to think okay I am a resourceful woman. There has to be a way. I know! There are 24 hour surrveillance video cameras on so maybe if I wave my hands around like a crazy person they would look and see a toddler and his momma locked in. Right? Quickly, I prayed my 9-1-1 prayer! "I need wisdom now or a police officer would work too Lord!"  I looked at the gate to see that some of the metal had been twisted off to where there was a little opening but not much. I decided to twist off the rest on the sides to create a bigger whole so we both could get out. Sure enough it worked. My little man must have understood because he was right behind me or thought we were going to wrestle since I was so low to the ground. We were free and leaving very quickly since my bladder was in "relieve me" mode.

SO HOW WAS YOUR DAY???? lol

p.s. the above thought process took all of about 90 seconds....=0)

The Farmer and the Dell

DSC_8710

I don't why but that is the song that is stuck in my head when I see these pictures! I had gone shopping for fall/winter clothes a week ago for my ever growing baby boy. Of course getting a toddler to try anything on is like pinning a cloud down so I decided I would take my chances and buy what I thought would fit in a few months or less. I was more concerned whether the overalls would  be roomy enough in a certain area. He is long in the torso so most pants in the legs fit fine it is in the other area that I have problems with. He liked is overalls so much that the tags stayed on along with him wearing his new shoes. I thought it was so funny. However at the end of the day just his socks with crocs and no overalls was the way to go!!!

Just Stuff

I get asked all the time "when are you going to have another baby?" I wish it were as simple as "tomorrow." Unfortunately, it took us 7 years to even get pregnant. Yep, I have not shared much with people concerning my health issues. It is just something you don't bring up at dinner. Pass the mash potatoes please and oh by the way I am having trouble......(you fill in the blank). The question to me is "does God want us to have another baby?" I don't have any answers myself. I wish I could answer with confidence whatever question comes my way concerning another child. I honestly, don't mind sharing my story or experience. Most of us who have struggled are pretty opened about the matter. I should say "after the fact" for most. It is during the difficult time that you struggle for just a voice to help you express your fears, hopes, dreams, reality, and the truth.

On to the next: Did I tell you I am running a 5k this weekend? Yep, I got my shirts in and can't decide which one to wear. What do you think? First, "who moved the finish line?" Second, " i'm running my mass off!" I have been *snicker* training for a couple of months now. Seriously, I am not hardcore like some people I know. I have signed up for walks in different areas. I did a 10k walk a couple years back. I enjoyed it so much. It was right when the bluebonnets bloomed near Fredricksburg. Such a  pretty place to sponsor a walk/run. I must be crazy b/c this time I am running it. I know y'all are saying it is only 3 a little something over that MILES!!! Let me emphasize something...I am a jogger. Do you know the difference between a runner and a jogger? One is slow. Yep, I am slow! I am excited about it!

Here are some more random thoughts! aren't you glad you stopped by????

1. why is it that I feel we have entered the 2's and we are only almost 15 month old?

2. does it seem crowded everywhere you go or is it just me?

3. everyday I am amazed at how much my little boy knows. he is learning new words all the time.

"athe ime" =bath time

"utterfly" = butterfly

"pay swing" = play on swing

   " I go daddy" = I go with daddy

   " ank u" = thank you

      "ite" = bite

 "eeeeeessee" = cheese

4. I think boys are born to build, destroy, and conquer. If my furniture could speak, the stories they could share!

5. Why is it when I go to a friend's house who has many children, they make it look so easy? Often hubby and I say "yes, we want more children." we take home our one that feels like many and say " thank you God for our one."

6.  twitter, what is that? seriously, do we need to know what people are doing 24/7!

7. cable: I should sell it so I could honestly make better packages of things that I want. All, I want to add is fox business and sprout! So, why do I have to add 45 plus just to get those 2?

8. I love it when company comes but the whole getting ready for it, drains me!

9. Speaking of slow! You know I am still getting lab bills from when my son was born. Are insurance companies that slow?

10. Did I mention that I am keeping a baby? That sounds weird. I mean I am babysitting my neighbors little girl. I am helping them out for a short while. My son thinks I have magically brought him home a sister. Anyway, they are 10 mths. apart. EEEK!! I have the most profound respect for my friends who have had their babies that close together! My hat is off to you!

11. I started another blog. No not b/c this one is so brilliant or anything. My leader at my meetings talked to me about starting one for the group. I am not sure I went with the right blog and I am having my doubts as a leader or should I say in charge of running the blog. Yeah, keeping up with the blog is more like it.

12. Speaking of blogs...it really blows my mind that people get paid to blog. They must be really really entertaining!

13. The other day in my neighborhood 8 ladies came to knock door to door. They wore hats, pantyhose, dresses with jewelry, and make up! They appeared to over 60 or so. Two of them knocked on my door to ask me about coming to THE CHURCH. hummm..I thought! Anyway, I took their brochure and said "thank you." I thought it was the mormon religion knocking on my door. I thought oh the 2 young boys in their suites on bicycles have been replaced. I was wrong....it was Jehovah Witness. So now, I get to welcome old ladies in hats and young boys on bikes. What happened to the in between age? I know they are raising kids and working...=0)

14. Do you feel like when summer comes your yard work triples? I know mine has!

15. How can one baby possibly cut 3-5 teeth at a time. No wonder he is so fussy!!! Ouch!!

I am a bad bad...

blogger! I know it has been so long! Seriously, I have been super busy with family visiting, traveling to Austin for hubby's training, doctor's visits, planning a shower, planning a first birthday, attending first birthdays, shopping for gifts for little ones turning one, and among many other things! WHEW...I am tired all over again just thinking about it. So ,here goes playing catch up!

First, where was I last on updating??hum....Jonathan has 6 teeth working on 7! He is crawling like a crazy person and even gets there, wherever faster by scooting one of  his legs under him. He is trying to walk. He will stand for 1/2 a minute and then BOOM! He hits the ground. We have a few more cuts, scrapes, markings etc. from all this discovering. We have had a few play dates with fellows who are older than he is but not much bigger =0)! He thinks it is cool to see little people like him. He notices WOMEN and I do mean women like crazy. He so far prefers blondes with long hair. He can get their attention with a flash of a smile and their a goner. He eats "real" people food. He has been doing that for awhile but has tried many many things. His favorite is plain yogurt! He thinks he can play with the BIG BOYS. We were at a birthday party last week where a few teenagers gathered at the couch and there was Jonathan right in the middle, giggling. I have no idea what was so funny but he had them rolling with laughter. We borrowed our friends bike trailer to see if Jonathan would even like it! He now grunts at the trailer wanting to go for a ride. He knows the word "clap." You don't even have to show him, he will do it just by saying the word.

We also celebrated our first Valentine's day. We made cookies, opened presents, and went to a concert.

I am sure there is more growth bragging but I know I have done too much!

here are a few pics...

A Fall, A Roof, and Tagged...

not just once but twice I have been tagged. So here goes!

First an update. We have a new roof! They came Thursday and did it all in one day. I did have to stay away from the house all day due to the constant banging. All we have left is fence work and new screens to replace the ones in the back. We are planning on solar screens! The fence may take a few more weeks since my neighbors to the west of us want to see what their neighbors to the west of them want to do as well. Which would be awesome if we all 4 got it done at the same time. It means a BIGGER discount!

I had a bad week. For varies reasons that I won't get go into detail about. Anyway, baby fell on Wednesday. It was pretty scary! It could have been prevented even though my friends have told me that it has happened to all of them and it is a child's plot in life to fall at least once on their momma's watch. I felt(and still do) guilty. We called the doctor and she explained how they are like rubber maid containers. They bounce back since their bones have not finished growing together.
