I am all for...

*warning sensitive subject matter*

saving money, being environmentally friendly, and heck just the over all feeling of "I am doing something good." However, I came across a post that well how do I put it, made my jaw dropped. I must be naive or oblivious. I had no idea that such a concept existed. I thought people talked about everything. Have you ever heard of a Moon Cup or Glad Rags or New Moon Pads? Well, you have heard of cloth diapers for babies right? It is kinda of like that except for grown women who have a friend that visits once a month. *Wink, wink*  Get the idea! I know some of you are completely grossed out. I am so sorry. Please tell me I am not the only one who HAS NOT heard of this before. Trust me I am not knocking it. Now, if you are one that uses such an item, good for you and please give this naive chick a call. I have a few questions for you! Especially if you use the Moon Cup. I don't know folks, I guess anything is possible.

Why am I always in the dark about such matters???? I am not posting links here...you can google it!!!

* I hope I have not offended anyone...I am sorry if I have*

I think he likes it!!!

Do you remember those old commercials "mikey likes it?" I think it was about the LIFE cereal. I am not sure. Anyway, I tried a new receipe called Taco Lasagna. I even saw a dinner kit  by Oretega for Taco Lasagna in the store the other day. Anyway, my son went nuts. It is basically a layered soft taco that you bake in a 9 inch pan. You obviously leave off the lettuce till the end if you even want it on there. You serve with a lil salsa and there ya go! Worth a repeat!    dsc_7442

Books, Cupcakes, Dr. Seuss, and A Wagon

Here are the pictures from the big birthday party! I say big only because it was his first! We asked our friends to bring books instead of toys for our lil man's first birthday. He loves books! We had the hat of the Cat and the Hat in a cupcake cake!

New Name, Old Memories

So, many many of you have all asked me why the title"the character?" Well, I taught for a few years at a private school and the youngest age was 18 months old. They had a hard time pronouncing my last name. It always sounded like Mrs. CharACTer. When I started this blog I had no idea what to name it or where to begin. Give me a break I was pregnant at the time. I think! Gee, kids really do suck your brain cells right out of ya. I would like to blame it on prego brain but maybe I was just plain boring. I have decided to rename it The 3 C's. Everyone already knows that my last name begins with C and 3 being myself, hubby, and baby bear. I think The 3 bears would have been better but I really don't want to confuse you more. Plus, hubby really would have been embarrassed by that title.

Now, I am a little emotional today. This time last year I was in active labor! Yeah, I know his official birthday is tomorrow. I am referring to the actual day of the week this time last year. I remember most of it and I am so grateful that my friend encouraged me to tape part of it. I wish we could have gotten some of the labor on tape but it was so fast and painful that hubby was right by my side. I am still pinching myself that I am a mom! I pray everyday that I make the "God" choice(whichever way he wants me to parent) and that I cherish every moment even the tough stuff. I am so proud of my baby boy. I love him more than words can even begin to express on paper how I feel. My heart is so full that sometimes I wonder if it will burst. So, to my friends who have more than one, I bet y'all's hearts are bursting ten times over. I love each one of you so much and "we" could not have done it without you. Whether you believe it or not each one of you have had a role in this answered prayer. You may think it small but know this, small is still powerful.

love...the 3 C's

p.s. when I wrote this it was 10 am...having computer issues..sigh

The blues

I know I promised to post more often but we have been sick. Jonathan had an ear infection with a fever. Though he is much better he still has a few days of antibiotics. However, I am now sick. I have a viral infection in my eye and I am contagious. I am currently on 2 meds. Anyway, just pray for us b/c it will be almost 3 weeks of being in this house. Yuck!!! We are a little blue from being cooped up.

love y'all....

I am a bad bad...

blogger! I know it has been so long! Seriously, I have been super busy with family visiting, traveling to Austin for hubby's training, doctor's visits, planning a shower, planning a first birthday, attending first birthdays, shopping for gifts for little ones turning one, and among many other things! WHEW...I am tired all over again just thinking about it. So ,here goes playing catch up!

First, where was I last on updating??hum....Jonathan has 6 teeth working on 7! He is crawling like a crazy person and even gets there, wherever faster by scooting one of  his legs under him. He is trying to walk. He will stand for 1/2 a minute and then BOOM! He hits the ground. We have a few more cuts, scrapes, markings etc. from all this discovering. We have had a few play dates with fellows who are older than he is but not much bigger =0)! He thinks it is cool to see little people like him. He notices WOMEN and I do mean women like crazy. He so far prefers blondes with long hair. He can get their attention with a flash of a smile and their a goner. He eats "real" people food. He has been doing that for awhile but has tried many many things. His favorite is plain yogurt! He thinks he can play with the BIG BOYS. We were at a birthday party last week where a few teenagers gathered at the couch and there was Jonathan right in the middle, giggling. I have no idea what was so funny but he had them rolling with laughter. We borrowed our friends bike trailer to see if Jonathan would even like it! He now grunts at the trailer wanting to go for a ride. He knows the word "clap." You don't even have to show him, he will do it just by saying the word.

We also celebrated our first Valentine's day. We made cookies, opened presents, and went to a concert.

I am sure there is more growth bragging but I know I have done too much!
