San Antonio

A couple of weeks ago hubby and I got away for a "romantic getaway!" We had a great time! The hotel we stayed at was sooooooo romantic that it was surrounded by beautiful country-side. I am not sure if I worded that right but you get the idea(wink-wink). We treated ourselves to one of the top five restaurants in the U.S., BIGA on the Bend. It was located off of none other than the river walk. Let me just say it was different but soooo good! Hubby had duck with fancy sauce and I had rack of lamb. Dessert was served in a teny tiny shot glass on a huge plate surrounded by fancy chocolate writings with swirls. The two nights that we did stay at the hotel, they had homemade smores being roasted on a open fire pit outside the hotel. That was fun! The river walk was romantic but the kid in me really wanted to get back to the smores. Hubby knew it too! The hotel had all its Christmas decorations up so we got a few fun pictures to remember. Here are a few to share!

Delish!

Little man is 20 months old and is obsessed with APPLES! Only he says AT-pooles! He says" momma, mmmm de-ish!"  He wants one for breakfast, snack, lunch, and dinner. He sees them at the store and excitement takes over him. He must choose a few AT-pooles to put in the bag. I am sure that the check out lady appreciates the one bag full of different apples that she must pull out one at a time to scan! It is amazing what little ones will attach themselves to!

Shadow

Lil man has discovered his shadow. One afternoon he chased his shadow all over the backyard. The only problem was  mr. shadow disappeared when we went inside! Try explaining that to a 19 month old!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A Friend indeed

Last week I helped a friend out by watching her son for a night and half a day. I think my son thought I had brought in a play-mate for him. They had so much fun together! She actually came to pick up her son that early next morning but he did not want to leave. Plus, they were playing so well together that I told her to go on and let them play. First Haircut

I finally did it! I was brave enough to take my sweet baby boy to get his gorgeous red hair cut. This was very hard for me. It is another milestone which means he is growing up and time is flying by. Thanks to my sweet friend's suggestion I was at much better ease with this place. They gave me a certificate with snip its of his hair in a little plastic bag! Wonderful idea!

Locked In!

So, today after my run at Myer Park I decided we would play at our little neighborhood park. Honestly, we have never use it. I know I am so ashamed because it is a nice one! Anyway, they have several slides, a plastic rock climbing wall, teeter toter, cars, merry go round, a volleyball court and tennis courts. You have to have a key to get into our playground area. Which is fine and makes me feel somewhat safe. However, the tennis courts usually are just open and are never locked. Little man wanted to discover the open space of the tennis courts. I let him and myself into the area to play chase mommie! He loves that game. After about 15 minutes, we needed a potty break or should I say I needed a potty break. I walked over to the gate to open it and discovered very quickly we are locked in. OH NO! "Don't panic", I say to myself. I had left our bag with the keys on the bench in the playground area. YIKES! Plus, the gate has only a key entry in and out so you can't reach around with your hand and turn the lock to open it. I laughed! I began to think okay I am a resourceful woman. There has to be a way. I know! There are 24 hour surrveillance video cameras on so maybe if I wave my hands around like a crazy person they would look and see a toddler and his momma locked in. Right? Quickly, I prayed my 9-1-1 prayer! "I need wisdom now or a police officer would work too Lord!"  I looked at the gate to see that some of the metal had been twisted off to where there was a little opening but not much. I decided to twist off the rest on the sides to create a bigger whole so we both could get out. Sure enough it worked. My little man must have understood because he was right behind me or thought we were going to wrestle since I was so low to the ground. We were free and leaving very quickly since my bladder was in "relieve me" mode.

SO HOW WAS YOUR DAY???? lol

....helpless when my child is sick. It is the worst feeling in the world! I am so grateful that Hubby is back. He does make our world complete!
