Red

DSC_8033

Did I tell you that RED is my favorite color? I have it decorated in almost every room in my house. After, this incident I am rethinking what my favorite color is. Now I have it on the floors in a couple of rooms of the house. My hubby thought it was lipstick at first and was questioning my parenting skills=0). Not really!

The story is that I was making a list for Sam's. My sweet boy wanted to help. So I found those toddler crayon wobble things for him to use on his on paper. It is suppose to encourage them to color and be "child proof." I mean in the sense of not taking out the crayon. I am writing my list when I look up in 5 seconds(or so it felt) he had taken the crayon out and used as a decorative devise. Oh what fun!!!!

Here are a couple more pics for your entertainment..

2 years ago, Yesterday

2 years ago yesterday, I found out I was pregnant! It was a strange week for me that week anyway. I could not get enough milk. The checkout lady started to recognize me after 3 trips in a row. I could not lift my arms to save my life when I was napping. I slept all day. I would wake up at 6:30 make hubby his breakfast, eat something for me, and then back to bed at 8:30 or so until noon. I would eat lunch and go back to bed until hubby got home from work. Somehow I would scramble dinner together, eat with hubby, and then back to bed at 7 p.m. until the next morning. This went on for weeks past the time I took my test at home. That day July 19th 2007 is one I will never forget!

I had gone to the store to get MILK! I know it was a hard guess =0). I remember thinking to myself maybe I should get a pregnancy test just incase. This was nothing new to me buying the tests that is. I had bought dozens before only to find the results with a big fat negative. Anyway, I had stopped at chik fil a to get lunch before I headed on home. I remember being hot. I took off my clothes to put on at tank top and shorts. I thought okay I will take the test. "It is way to early Lord. I mean come on I haven't even missed a period." I sat there and did my thing. Not even 2 seconds of waiting....."positive" it read. Hummm....somethings wrong. My heart was beating so fast. I called my very best friend from college only to find her in the baby section of Barnes and Nobles purchasing me a book about the development of a fetus with pictures in it! I said "can a test read positive that could be false?"  She replied " why?????"  "I just took test but it is too early to take one so I am thinking it is wrong."  I can hear her start to cry on the phone and her voice began to shrill with excitement. She explained to me how that would be next to impossible. Then she asked me  " how early?"   I told her, " Just 2 weeks or so." The funny part,  I was so excited that I did not realize that my shorts had fallen off of me while I was running through the house crying with JOY!  I remember stopping, looking down, and saying "oh, I hoped that no one just saw me."  I then began to plan how I would tell hubby. I remember cooking a gourmet dinner, wrapping the test in a box, and giving him a card. He thought it was about his promotion celebration dinner. Then when he saw the box he grinned. I will never forget it!

Thank you so much God for our sweet blessing!

Love and so much more

Do you ever love someone so much that your heart could just burst? I truly did not know this kind of love until my son entered the world.

Seriously, today was just one of those precious days with my son. All of the grandparents are in town so we are having such a blast! We had our little man's pictures taken with his daddy and granddaddy at Portrait Innovations with none other than Bryan! It went really well and then Bryan took some of just my son. I will have to post them later. Anyway, I was gone this morning to a "how to class" on laying tile down for flooring with my mom. I was gone most of the morning until time to go get portraits done. After the portraits were done, my son became very clingy. I think he missed me today =0). It was time for dinner so we agreed to eat at Cafe Express while we waited on our pictures being printed. I did not want to climb back in the van towards the back seat for such a short drive. The grandmothers have knee issues so they had to ride in the van. I walked! Well, little man did not want me to go at it alone. We walked hand in hand over to the restaurant. It was perfect! I just love those moments. I looked down at my son with his tiny hand in mine pondering on the love I have for him. Knowing that nothing can separate the love I have for him! That is when it hit me! That is how Christ sees me. Oh I have known this but to RRRREEEally feel it is another. He lovingly holds my hand down the path of life. It is an amazing feeling to get a glimpse of Christ through your child.

Just Stuff

I get asked all the time "when are you going to have another baby?" I wish it were as simple as "tomorrow." Unfortunately, it took us 7 years to even get pregnant. Yep, I have not shared much with people concerning my health issues. It is just something you don't bring up at dinner. Pass the mash potatoes please and oh by the way I am having trouble......(you fill in the blank). The question to me is "does God want us to have another baby?" I don't have any answers myself. I wish I could answer with confidence whatever question comes my way concerning another child. I honestly, don't mind sharing my story or experience. Most of us who have struggled are pretty opened about the matter. I should say "after the fact" for most. It is during the difficult time that you struggle for just a voice to help you express your fears, hopes, dreams, reality, and the truth.

On to the next: Did I tell you I am running a 5k this weekend? Yep, I got my shirts in and can't decide which one to wear. What do you think? First, "who moved the finish line?" Second, " i'm running my mass off!" I have been *snicker* training for a couple of months now. Seriously, I am not hardcore like some people I know. I have signed up for walks in different areas. I did a 10k walk a couple years back. I enjoyed it so much. It was right when the bluebonnets bloomed near Fredricksburg. Such a  pretty place to sponsor a walk/run. I must be crazy b/c this time I am running it. I know y'all are saying it is only 3 a little something over that MILES!!! Let me emphasize something...I am a jogger. Do you know the difference between a runner and a jogger? One is slow. Yep, I am slow! I am excited about it!

Here are some more random thoughts! aren't you glad you stopped by????

1. why is it that I feel we have entered the 2's and we are only almost 15 month old?

2. does it seem crowded everywhere you go or is it just me?

3. everyday I am amazed at how much my little boy knows. he is learning new words all the time.

"athe ime" =bath time

"utterfly" = butterfly

  "pay swing" = play on swing

   " I go daddy" = I go with daddy

   " ank u" = thank you

      "ite" = bite

 "eeeeeessee" = cheese

4. I think boys are born to build, destroy, and conquer. If my furniture could speak, the stories they could share!

5. Why is it when I go to a friend's house who has many children, they make it look so easy? Often hubby and I say "yes, we want more children." we take home our one that feels like many and say " thank you God for our one."

6.  twitter, what is that? seriously, do we need to know what people are doing 24/7!

7. cable: I should sell it so I could honestly make better packages of things that I want. All, I want to add is fox business and sprout! So, why do I have to add 45 plus just to get those 2?

8. I love it when company comes but the whole getting ready for it, drains me!

9. Speaking of slow! You know I am still getting lab bills from when my son was born. Are insurance companies that slow?

10. Did I mention that I am keeping a baby? That sounds weird. I mean I am babysitting my neighbors little girl. I am helping them out for a short while. My son thinks I have magically brought him home a sister. Anyway, they are 10 mths. apart. EEEK!! I have the most profound respect for my friends who have had their babies that close together! My hat is off to you!

11. I started another blog. No not b/c this one is so brilliant or anything. My leader at my meetings talked to me about starting one for the group. I am not sure I went with the right blog and I am having my doubts as a leader or should I say in charge of running the blog. Yeah, keeping up with the blog is more like it.

12. Speaking of blogs...it really blows my mind that people get paid to blog. They must be really really entertaining!

13. The other day in my neighborhood 8 ladies came to knock door to door. They wore hats, pantyhose, dresses with jewelry, and make up! They appeared to over 60 or so. Two of them knocked on my door to ask me about coming to THE CHURCH. hummm..I thought! Anyway, I took their brochure and said "thank you." I thought it was the mormon religion knocking on my door. I thought oh the 2 young boys in their suites on bicycles have been replaced. I was wrong....it was Jehovah Witness. So now, I get to welcome old ladies in hats and young boys on bikes. What happened to the in between age? I know they are raising kids and working...=0)

14. Do you feel like when summer comes your yard work triples? I know mine has!

15. How can one baby possibly cut 3-5 teeth at a time. No wonder he is so fussy!!! Ouch!!
