Well, I am a little bummed. My service that I was going to do got cancelled! So this brings up a good point. We just need to make ourselves available for the service! Remember the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000? Go to John 6: 1-14. Actually, it is in all 4 of the gospels! Yep, there was a boy who had 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes. I am sure his momma packed his meals to last all day. Little did she know she would be packing for the Savior. That is beside the point here for today. Anyway, the little boy did not have enough to feed the crowd but Jesus did. For me the lesson learned here is beyond what Jesus can bless but that the little boy made himself available for the service. He let Jesus handle the rest. Sometimes the serving part of service is in the availability and the yes in our actions. God knows our intentions regardless if the service got cancelled or not.
So are you making yourself available? Filling in for a teacher that is sick on Sunday, preparing communion, leading a bible study, making refreshments for the next teenager event, meeting someone new, helping a neighbor in need or whatever. If you will, share your expereince. We can all learn from it!
